PROGRAMME
ITINERARY
During this short week, your child will enjoy
learning about different neighborhoods in Singapore. Your child may
know what is going on around his/her neighborhood and the environment,
but Singapore, being a multicultural country, has several different
neighborhoods that exudes racial harmony. Explore wet markets, the old
style convenience store (the MAMA shop) and
facilities available in an old neighborhood. Learn about the types of
houses most commonly seen in Singapore like the HDB flats where most
heartlanders are familiar with.
Monday - Introducing the
different kinds of houses in different areas!
Tuesday - Identify the shapes
that make a house (HDB, BUNGALOW, TERRACE HOUSE, etc)
and build a house with your eyes blindfolded! See how well you can do
it just by using your hands!
Wednesday - Do some simple
Math with pictures of houses!
Thursday - Appreciate and
draw the facilities around a neighborhood's vicinity.
Friday - Go on a heartland
trip! Notice the difference between a supermarket and a wet market!
Buy from a "mama" shop! Enjoy playing in the playground and observe
the closely knitted neighbors sitting around, catching up on times!
On Monday
and Tuesday, the children will have fun learning language the Montessori
way. Children will be introduced to the Montessori language materials
and learn letter sounds.
On Wednesday,
children get to discover the highly acclaimed Montessori methodology
for learning Maths, the concrete to abstract way.
On Thursday, we will draw pictures of
our neighbourhood and children will be exposed to Japanese as a third
language.
On Friday, children will go on their field
trip.
